Wittgenstein
(Passed away on 27th March 2002)

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there. I did not die.

-- Hopi Prayer

Maureen & Charlotte

Yuffie (1998-2004)

As calm, considerate a working dog as you'll ever find; the most gentle of her giant breed. She lost her life due to complications resulting from her struggle with osteosarcoma. Though her time was far too short, our lives were the richer for having known her.

Zen

(October 3, 1997 - March 3, 2006)

Scudamore Khax Quidam, CGC, TT
Can. CH Scudamore Wija Khanda (LC) X Scudamore Melody de Taj, WAC, CGC, ATT (BFL)
Owned by Kristina Johnsen

.

A victim of dilated cardiomyopathy, Zen died less than 20 feet from where he was born. Thanks to great vets (special thanks to Dr. Spiegel & Dr. Petrie), great drugs and lots of love, he had a great quality of life until the last few days.

Somehow Zen managed to be a punk and a sweetheart all at once, making many human friends. He is buried next to his pals Tar and Russia in New Jersey, where he loved to camp.

I miss him more than I imagined I would.

He is survived by Rue, (his sister) Kol, Fidel & Kuro.

Zuli
May 31st 1995 – May 23rd 2007
Harlequin Great Dane

“Zuli, The Greatest Dane!” You may have seen Zuli strut her stuff down 7th Avenue behind the Headless Horseman in the Park Slope Halloween parade, or been one of the literally thousands who petted and admired her strength, beauty and long red-painted toenails. I have never known another being as gentle, compassionate, devoted, fun, graceful, intuitive, powerful and naturally gorgeous. I miss my best friend and protector every single day.
